The name of a band in Nova Scotia has been revealed as a “banner boy” band.
The name, which was first reported by the CBC on Friday, comes from a group of teens that were on a trip to the town of Tabor, in the Northwest Territories, in 2014.
In a statement, the band said it would be “honouring the memory of the many who lost their lives while doing what they loved most.”
It’s the second band name of significance to be revealed this week, after an RCMP officer was shot dead in Edmonton on Thursday.
A police officer was also injured during the attack.
The group, known as Boy Scouts of Canada, said in a statement that the band was “honoured to have been called a banner boy.”
It said that it will “continue to work for a better future.”
