By LUCKNOW: An elderly man, who was a fan of the popular television show ‘Bollywood’, who died after consuming poison at the height of the riots of 2002, has been declared a hero by a court.

The court, on Tuesday, declared that Shri M.A. Keshavan, who died in the evening on December 17, 2002, died due to ‘inadequate medical treatment’.

It said that he died because he was deprived of adequate medical care due to the riots.

Keshavan had lost his life at the time of the riot, which broke out in the aftermath of the death of actor-turned-politician Shabir Kapoor.

Kashavan had a severe liver disease and liver transplantation was not an option.
