The 21-year-old singer’s debut video for her debut single, “I’m not a girl,” was a collaboration with her friend and producer/writer, Ariana Grande.
Grande made her official debut on Monday with a short video in which she shows off her first official music video.
The video has been viewed more than 9 million times since it was released on Sunday.
Grande is in the middle of a world tour that kicks off on Sept. 14 in Chicago and includes stops in Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas and Nashville.
The tour is Grande’s biggest yet, having sold out stadiums in Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles and Phoenix.
Grande’s debut album, I Love You, is set to be released Sept. 25.
Grande said in an Instagram post that she’s inspired by a character from “The Princess Bride,” who has a “girl” who always tries to “help you out.”
“It is what it is,” Grande said of her new video.
“It’s about being in the moment, being in love, it’s not a chore.
It’s just something I can be me, be who I am, and that’s what I’m feeling.”
