It’s a week before Demi has been announced as the next Billboard Music Awards winner.
On Sunday night, she’ll hit the stage for her third straight Billboard Music Award, following last year’s surprise win for the song “Hollywood,” which was her fourth.
She’s been nominated for three Grammys in her career, and has been nominated in each of the past four years.
That doesn’t make her the first female pop star to win an award at this year’s ceremony, though.
Madonna won the Grammys last year for “Love Me Like You Do.”
Demi, on the other hand, is just the second female rapper to win the award in her lifetime.
But this year, there’s been some pushback on Twitter for her nomination.
“How about demi Lovati being nominated for the first time for an album, which is a great honor for her, but is it fair for the artists who are nominated,” one user asked.
Demi and Lovato have had a long and productive career together, with the pop singer also releasing five albums.
And while Lovato has been making headlines for her outspoken stance against police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement, Demi was the one to take center stage during a major concert in February.
While Lovato was at the top of the charts, Demic was in the middle of it.
While Demi wasn’t a huge star, her song “The World Is Yours” and Lovatos song “Livin’ On a Prayer” were both #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums chart.
And it was Demi who had the biggest hit of the night, with “The Way I Am,” which reached #3.
So was Demian Lovato, who became a huge pop sensation thanks to her hit song “Love” and hit singles “Take Me Away” and “I Don’t Care” that both peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lovato is now making a name for herself as a multi-platinum artist, while Demi continues to make waves with her pop hits and pop music.
As Demi said in her acceptance speech at the ceremony last year, she’s proud of all of the artists she has supported in her life.
“You know, it’s nice to know that when you’re on a stage and you’re not in a box, that you have the opportunity to make the music that you want to make and have it be seen and enjoyed,” she said.
“And so that’s been a great part of my life.
And so it’s just nice that it’s something that I’m able to bring into this arena that’s always been there.”
